Today's project is a bathroom basket. Your guests will feel pampered when you set up baskets for each of the bathrooms. Items to include would be lotion, hairspray, floss, clear nail polish, lint brush, breath mints, bobby pins, perfume, etc. Add a cute poem and place in front of the basket. It's a great little detail that guests will truly appreciate.

One thing that can be really easy to forget is to put together a makeup kit for your wedding day. When you are getting ready for the big day, chances are you will be putting on makeup about an hour and half to two hours before your wedding.

This is especially true if you are taking photos before the ceremony or if you are getting ready at home or in a hotel room and your ceremony is in a different location.

Your wedding can last up to 4 hours or more. With all of the stress, camera lights and dancing all night your makeup can wear off very quickly. Here are a few things that you should consider putting in a small clutch bag. Have your maid of honor or one of the bridesmaids be responsible for carrying it.

Lip Gloss: Your lips will need gloss re-applied throughout the night with all the kissing you will be doing! If you can find a 2 in 1 item like this lip gloss + fragrance duo it's less you have to carry!
Blush or Highlighting Powder: Just as you will need to re-apply powder you will need to touch up your blush.

An all-in-one compact will make your life so much easier. Everything you need for a quick touch up is all together with a convenient mirror. You won't have a lot of time for re-applying makeup so make sure it's easily accessible!

Cupcake Couture - Wedding Wednesday

Who doesn't love cupcakes? I personally had a cupcake tower at my engagement party and it was a hit! I added little faux diamond rings to the top of each cupcake and they looked adorable!

You can download a template and cut out your own wrappers out of scrapbooking paper for a couture look. Or if you're not in a DIY mood just order them from Bella Cupcake Couture.

Instructions:

1. Download the template here

2. Print it onto a piece of cardstock

3. Cut it out and use it to trace the shape onto paper. You can fit multiple wrappers on a single sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ paper.

4. Cut out your shapes.

5. Use strong double-sided tape to adhere the cardstock

6. Decorate to your liking

Tips + Hints:

Linear patterns like lines and plaid don’t work very well because the template is curved. It’ll look wonky.
Use decorative scissors to cut out the top of the wrapper to add a bit of pizazz.
Paper punches are great for adding a little extra cuteness, too.

Wedding Wednesday - FREE Wine Tag Template

This idea is fabulous for those of you who want to give wine glasses as favors. They are great for your reception, engagement party or even your rehearsal dinner. Just copy and paste the template onto your document and print on a heavy card stock. You can cut these out or get a circle cutter at a craft store. If you want to adhere them to the bottom of the glass just get a double sided adhesive tape runner and put a little adhesive on the edge of the tag. Another option is to punch a hole in the center of the tag and then cut straight out from the center to the edge. Then you can attach it to the stem of the glass. Just be sure you can get a hole punch big enough for the thickness of the stem.

Card Box from my Wedding

I wanted to share with everyone the card box that I made for my wedding. It definitely adds a special touch to your gift table to have one. You also want to be sure that all of your cards are in one location because most people will end up giving you a check, cash or gift cards. If they are in one location it makes it easier to have someone put the box away for you while you are enjoying your reception. This is especially important if your reception is in a place such as a hotel. Other guests staying at the hotel will be passing by near your gift table.

For my card box I decided that I wanted it to look like a mini version of my cake. I found a set of nested hat boxes that I covered in Martha Stewart quilted wrapping paper. You can use just about any wrapping paper you like. Then I used an exacto knife to cut a slit in the top of each box. That way when someone drops a card into the box it goes all the way down to the bottom tier. Use glue to adhere each tier. I prefer to use hot glue for this project. I found silk pink peonies at a craft store and glued them to the top of the card box cake. I love using rhinestones and monograms were a big part of our theme so I found a large piece of chipboard in our monogram. I covered it in rhinestones. About half way through I realized how long it was going to take to finish it. If you don't have the time you can always cover your monogram in scrapbook paper or paint it. Lastly, I added a wide white satin ribbon around the bottom of each tier.

Today's freebie is a fabulous find! These are so easy to make and make great favors for any event. Or add these to your candy buffet and put some in your guests' welcome boxes.

Just Download free-printable-candybar-wrappers-sm.pdf (for 2.6 oz candy bars) or Download free-large-candybar-wrappers.pdf (for 5 oz. candy bars) and then follow the simple directions below.

YOU WILL NEED:

-Chocolate candy bars (either 2.6 oz or 5 oz sizes)
-Color Printer
-Standard printer paper (white, color, or patterned will work) or self-adhesive paper
-Decorative Paper (be creative... you could use: graph paper, contact paper, vellum, magazine pages, etc.)
-Scissors
-Glue (or double-sided tape)
-Pen(s) or Pencil(s) for addressing your labels

1. Buy your favorite candy bars 2.6 oz. or 5 oz. (for this project you will need to select bars that come foil-wrapped with a removable paper label).
2. Carefully remove the paper labels from your candy bars. If stuck, use a dull instrument to gently loosen label.
3. Print the PDF files (above) and cut around each one.
4. Select a decorative paper of your choosing.
5. Cut to size (6" x 5.25" for 2.6 oz bars and 6.75" x 8.25" for 5 oz bars). Wrap each candy bar, securing in back with glue or double-sided tape.
6. Adhere your decorative labels to the front of the candy bars and address them as you wish.

There are lots of different creative ideas to let guests know where they will be seated for the reception. Some brides choose to go with a framed listing of where guests will be seated. Another idea is to add the table number to the guests' place cards and alphabetize the cards by last name. Use large last initial divider cards to make the process easier. You can use place card holders or frames to put the initials in.

Modern Summer Flowers

I love the combination of modern with bright summer colors. A bright pop of orange or lime looks great with just about any color, especially pink! Gerber Daisies and Dahlias are my favorite. I love the idea of taking a single Dahlia and floating it in a simple clear cylinder vase. It's simple and modern but adds a little bit of whimsy. Another great idea is adding slices of lime to your vases. It's an inexpensive way to add color and interest to your tables.

So I recently was re-connected with a friend from high school. She has since moved to NYC and has started her own line of handmade books called "Julz Books & Boxes". Wedding Wednesday - FREE Candy Buffet Tags

Today's freebie is an assortment of tags for your candy buffet. We have "Mint to be Together" for all types of mints, "Kisses" for chocolate Kisses, "Love Rocks" for rock candy and "Bliss" for Bliss chocolates. Make sure you get your custom requests in by end of day today.

All you have to do is copy and paste from the blog onto a word application. Cut them out however you like. You can punch holes on either side of the tag and thread ribbon through and wrap around the candy jar. Or, you can put it in a decorative frame! Mix up the frames for a more interesting look.

Garden Party Centerpieces & Table Numbers All in One

I love this garden party, whimsical look for summer weddings. Whether you are using a florist or doing your own centerpieces you can add a handmade look to your reception. I used plain white card stock and added buttons in the shape of the number to serve as a table number. Just punch a hole on each side of the card and thread ribbon through and adhere in the back. These are also great for summer parties, baby showers, bridal showers and bridesmaid luncheons!

DIY Summer Gift Pails for Bridesmaids & Flower Girls

This is a really cute inexpensive way to create chic little gift containers for your wedding party. You can use any container you wish. In the example I used little pails but you can use this idea for decorating a gift box as well. Find ribbon that coordinates with your wedding. Cut it to size and use a hot glue gun or adhesive to secure it to the pail or box. Embellish the front with flowers or rhinestone chipboard. I used gerber daisies in a pink and green combo which is a popular color combination for Spring & Summer. It's preppy & girly. I used tiffany blue & lime together which is a modern and trendy color combination right now. Fill with trinkets and gifts for a cute gift they will re-use over and over. I use them on my desk for organization. You can also use this idea with a previous blog post about centerpieces. Just add a small potted plant or flowers for a vintage chic look at parties or showers.

I recently attended a Perfect Wedding Guide Luncheon and met Theresa at Celebration Photobooth. I have heard a lot about these photobooths lately and they are growing in popularity. Your guests as well as the bride and groom will have a blast with one of these at the reception! They even have double strips of the photos so that your guests can take one home and the bride and groom can have a scrapbook of the photobooth memories! Your big day goes by so fast that you don't get to see everything that's happening at your wedding. This will allow you to see how much fun everyone had! Wedding Wednesday - FREE Gift Tags & Address Label Design

Thank you to everyone who is now following Wedding Wednesday! I received a huge response to last week's monogram freebie. This week I have some templates for gift tags as well as some free designs for address labels I discovered on Avery's website.

The gift tags are great for your wedding party gifts, welcome bags, favors, etc. Just copy and paste the jpg and print them on your own computer. Use a cardstock for these. Once you've printed just punch a hole through and use ribbon that coordinates with your color scheme. Or use adhesive and just place it on a gift box

or favor box.

Also, I found on Avery's Website that you can design your own address labels for free! They have some cute templates. I love the bride & groom and the gerber daisy. You can also upload your own photo. The photo looks so customized and you will save a lot of $! You can buy Avery labels at just about any office supply store. Usually the stores also have their own private label as well so you can save even more money!

Tabletop Inspiration: A Black Tie Affair

Nothing is more classy than classic black and white. I love adding some glam to this color scheme! I just created these black tie place cards and they are now on Etsy. Over the weekend I set up Pink Avenue Bride on Twitter and was amazed at the wealth of information you can find from all types of wedding professionals, fellow brides, etc. I came across "Tweet My Wedding" and just had to share with everyone. Tweet My Wedding is a social network that brings together wedding professionals and brides. On Saturday they posted a live streaming video of a wedding!!! It was such a great idea especially since there are always guests who can't make it. Or if you are having a destination wedding your guests can still be a part of your special day. Have them wear gloves, hats, etc. Or you can have items at the party for your guests to dress up. The perfect centerpieces for a tea party are tea pots filled with flowers. You can use tea cup & saucer sets that serve as your favors, plates & decor! They are only $2.99 a set! So I've officially decided to make every Wednesday....Wedding Wednesday! Each Wedding Wednesday I will post a great freebie that I find on the web or I will create a free template that you can use for your wedding. Examples would be tags, invites, labels, etc.

This week's freebie is your own personalized wine labels for FREE! Beaulieu Vineyards lets you customize your own labels with your names, wedding date, color and style. They have a website called "My Wedding My Wine" that makes it so easy to create your labels. The best part is it's all FREE, even shipping! These are high quality labels with metallic foil details.

Beaulieu Vineyards have a lot of great wine to choose from as well. Wine gifts are great for welcome bags and close family who have helped with the wedding but not part of the wedding party. If you end up buying wine somewhere else, be sure to check out local wineries. They will sell by the case and usually give a 10-15% discount. Some wineries do the small favor size bottles, but they are a little bit harder to find. You can always ask if they will give you the wine without the main label on the front so that you can add your own.

If you are having a wine theme wedding or event you can also use the customized bottles as centerpieces. These work well for centerpieces at a rehearsal dinner as well. Just make sure the restaurant you've chosen allows you to bring your own wine. If they do they will usually just charge you a small fee to uncork it. It will still save you a lot of money to bring your own!

Be sure to check this out even if you aren't getting married. This is also great for anniversaries and birthdays! There is a place to put whatever you want in the name and custom phrase.

Creative Alternative to Table Numbers

Instead of table numbers try something more personalized. Name your tables instead of using numbers. Think of the places or destinations that mean the most to you and your fiance. It could be where you first met, where he proposed, your first vacation together, a place you visit frequently, etc. Find pictures of the two of you together from those destinations or something that represents that place. Put the pictures in frames or in place card holders. It's a great way for guests to learn more about you and your fiance's love story!

There are many ways to make your favors serve multiple purposes. The starfish is perfect for beach weddings! It serves as a favor, place card and decor on your tables. Fans are great for outdoor weddings. Guests will use it for outdoor ceremonies or receptions to stay cool but it also serves as a place card and a favor!

Most brides these days are on a budget. You can save a lot of money by doing mini flower pot centerpieces for outdoor weddings, garden weddings and bridal showers. Visit your local Home Depot or Lowe's or garden shop and find potted flowers and/or plants that go with your color scheme. Then find some decorative little pails. You can find them just about anywhere. Every now and then Target has them for a $1!!! These centerpieces can cost less than $5 each! The best part is you can also use them as favors. You can do one at each place setting as decor but guests can take them home! Mix and match pots & pails for a vintage look. For a more simple and modern look just find a mini pot or vase with a small opening and just put one flower in each one.

My Pink Wedding

Here's a collection of pictures from my wedding. I was married on June 28, 2008 at the Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, FL. It was the perfect setting for my pink wedding. The resort is a gorgeous pink color and the architecture is amazing. It's a glamourous hotel right on the beach. Our wedding took place in a courtyard garden setting. We were lucky to have a beautiful day and were able to take lots of pictures on the beach. A lot of items in my wedding were monogrammed themed. We also had lots of flowers in different shades of pink. My favorite were the pink gerber daisies and my dark pink rose bouquet.

Monogrammed Cookies

Yesterday I was feeling ambitious and decided to make some decorative monogram cookies. This is so easy to do and it makes a great bridal shower favor or baby shower favor. I love the combination of pink and green. So preppy! You could also put these on a cute platter for your guests to munch on. I just used packaged cookie dough but feel free to make your own favorite type of cookie. I used sugar cookie mix in this example. Then I used food coloring and mixed it in vanilla icing to make it green. Then I used Wilton cookie icing in pink and just wrote out the monogram. The bottle the icing comes in makes it so easy to write. You don't even need decorative tips. Then allow the icing on the cookie to harden. I wrapped these in clear cellophane bags with cardstock on top. I just punched two holes with the cellophane in between the cardstock. Then I threaded pink satin ribbon to hold everything together. You can even add messages to the cardstock. Just print it out before you cut. If you need any help with this project feel free to message me. Flowers & Centerpieces on a Budget

This idea is great for brides on a budget! This centerpiece will only cost around $10 each. It has a very modern & contemporary look. It's simple yet very chic! Check your local flower shop. Find out what flowers they carry during the time of your wedding. They will usually allow you to buy flowers in bulk or in singles. You can pre-order them so they are available for you fresh the day of your wedding. It is so much cheaper to do this then going through a florist. If you have limited funds for flowers, invest mainly in your bouquet! Go to any craft store and find mini vases of any shape. Square vases are also very trendy right now and all you have to do is cut the flowers shorter. Craft stores also sell glass gems in a variety of colors. Put a few in each vase for some added shine. If your tables are larger you can do a grouping of 3 different vases and different colors or flowers!

Using red with aqua is a more modern approach and definitely makes a bold statement. I just recently came across these really adorable flower clips and headbands for flower girls! The are so cute in wedding pictures and they make great gifts as well. Candy buffets are so popular right now. This is by far one of the things guests love the most. It’s really easy to do. Craft stores have tons of different vases. I love the huge martini glasses! They range anywhere from $3-$20. They also sell candy scoops. You can order bulk candy from various different online candy stores. Usually you can shop by color so you can coordinate with your wedding colors. Decorate the vases and glasses with ribbons that match your wedding and just make cut outs of sayings that match your candy. Examples: “Love Rocks” for rock candy, “Kisses” for chocolate kisses and “Mint to be Together” for mint candy. Just remember to set up favor bags for them to scoop their candy into.
